3 HOUR TASTER WORKSHOP - £120

Suitable for beginners On the 3h session students will have a try on 1/2 hand building techniques, throwing on the wheel and various surface decorating using a variety of tools and objects. What to expect: A nice relaxing 3h of pottery making at my home studio, facing a lovely garden and a pond! The workshop is 3 hours long with a maximum of 4 participants. Work you make on the day and will be finished by me at later stage, but please do follow few simple steps: •Make sure that you sign and date all your work. •10 minutes before the end of the session we stop working and start tidying and cleaning all equipment used. •By the end of the lesson, you will choose a glaze for each piece •You will be asked to fill in a glazing form please fill in your contact details, name, date and a brief description of the work. . It can take up from 3 to 6 weeks for the work to be ready for pick up and you will be contacted when ready. •POTS THROWN ON THE WHEEL Pots that have been made on the wheel need to be trimmed by me next day when the clay is at leather hard stage. •HAND BUILT WORK Any work made with hand-built techniques like pinch pots or slabs should be completed on the day by the students and be ready to dry •DRYING All work must be dried slowly to avoid cracking of the clay, this process is dependent on size and thickness of work, it may take up to two weeks. •FIRST FIRING- bisque Once the work is completely dry, I will load it in the kiln and run a firing cycle at 1000 degrees, the cycle takes up to 48 hours, once the kiln has cooled down, I will remove the work which will be ready for glaze application. •APPLYING THE GLAZE: Once the work is bisque fired, I will apply the glaze you have chosen by following the instructions on the form •SECOND FIRING - GLAZE CYCLE Once the pieces are coated in glaze, I will load the kiln and run a glaze cycle at 1222 degrees Celsius. During the cycle the glaze will melt on the work, the clay will vitrify and turning the pieces into ceramics. All the pieces will be dishwasher, microwave and food safe. The cycle can take up to 48 hours and the kiln cannot be opened unless it has cooled down. REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL WORKSHOPS AND CLASSES: I kindly ask all participants to: •Please arrive on time •Please have your nails trimmed short and long hair tidied back •Please wear something that you do not mind getting dirty •Please bring a hand towel and an apron •Please clean all tools, equipment and surfaces used •Please follow all the instructions during the lesson, the tutor is not responsible for the outcome of your work

intermediate - 4 sessions monthly - £110

Suitable for Intermediate and advanced •OPTION 1- £ 110: 4 Studio Sessions per month plus firing charges. •OPTION 2 – £150 : full access book as many sessions as you like. Firing charges apply All memberships include: •Storage for your work, tools and your own glazes and materials •Support for Your Ceramics Journey •Different varieties of stoneware clay and studio glazes •access to 3 wheels, one wall extruder, one hand extruder, one tabletop slab roller, one griffin grip and all tools and material needed What is not included: The firing service which is calculated by weight once your piece is finished 100g = 0.50p Terms and Conditions: •The membership is a monthly rolling paid on the 28th of each month •The sessions you buy are valid for one calendar month •The booking is flexible and can be amended at any time, but it is on a first come basis. •No shows or missing a session is not refundable and cannot be brought forward to the next month. •Please clean up after yourself, wipe spillages with a wet cloth, dry all tools used with a towel and place them in their respective containers. •Please wash all cups used for hot drinks How to book: Once you decide which option you want to book please message me via whatsapp and I will forward you an invoice After payment, please secure your space following my booking link: https://www.calengoo.com/booking/terra_mia_pottery_studio/ Please note that the booking displays slots 40 days in advance, if you choose option 1 please choose only four bookings.

Introduction to Pottery course - £240

Suitable for beginners 8 weeks intoduction to pottery course will enable the student to learn about the ceramics process, the different building techniques, throwing on the wheel, how to use equipment and health and safety: What will I learn? Health and safety in the studio and the ceramic process, from mud to pot Throwing on the wheel and how to trim and refine your work. Use of different equipment and how to dismantle it and clean it: wheels, slab rollers, extruder Making Pinch pots Making Slabs of clay to create different objects Sculptural work Storing your work On the final lesson students will apply the glaze to their work Collection time 4 to 6 weeks after your last lesson Please note: The last lesson will be arranged once your work is all bisque fired as we need to allow for the work to dry completely to avoid the chances of pieces to break or crack during firing. The ceramic process is slow and cannot be rushed.
